I wonder if the defensive driving courses have a good cost/benefit from it. I mean if the course is $400 bucks (for example), how long would it take your premiums to go down to outweigh that initial investment? a year? 2 years? 10?
my defensive driving course was 82 dollars, then again that was when i got my license when i was 14, price has prob gone up since 2002 but i dont think to 400

because im old, have an excellent driving/insurance record, and i dont buy meat-head vehicles that attract higher premiums.
no extras though like a rental vehicle if car is fucked etc, and an excess of about $300.

Yeah, I’d like to know what horrible, scarring incident in your childhood turned you into such an ignorant, intellectual-hating philistine?

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
Just got my second speed tix in 18 months (CHP wankers) and a few people tell me my premiums are going to skyrocket.
Contacted a ticket lawyer who says they may be able to get it talked down to a lesser violation like "cruising" and therefore no point/traffic school requirement, but apparently with the economy the fuzz has been told by their superiors not to do any deals.
Anyone had their insurance raised by one violation (sic) too many?

I've heard of insurance companies raising rates for speeding tickets, equipment violations (tail light out, etc) which is ridiculous. I'm not familiar with Cali law but here in FL I always use an attorney and they clear it every time. However, you usually still pay the full ticket amount as "court fees" but you get to keep your record clean so the greedy bastard insurance companies don't find out.
