Art of Bruce Lee on Groundfighting.

Many people critcize Bruce Lee's works but try the art and it will change your mind.

This is the only art that learns how to break other arts

It's more direct instead of fancy styles like wushu or kungfu.
wushu = more for show ex: films, stages,etc.. not for fighting

In a real battle you would never go ala matrix and do the style of the crane or teh tiger. This is all direct hitting. Like tae kwon do is snap and block, but this style is snap and questions later.

Try it its really good.. first sessions you will already start getting bruised up. They will discipline you so you can be tough and have the confidence to beat the person even if they are big muscle man.

Once you reach a certain level in that style you can learn more from higher masters and also learn how to see everything in frames when you fight. Some peopel don't believe this but its true.. ever see those battles when you fight you just see really fast motion. Now if you trained your eyes in frames, you will be able to see everything in a choppy motion so you know when to strike. Think of it as a lag vision but realtime. Thats how Bruce was able to find everyone's weakness. Never believe Hollywood films. That part where he got his back broken is not true and even the family of the Lee's disgree it ever happened. Hollywood just wants to make it look dramatic that a man so powerful can get hurt, but it never happened. He beat the guy like that.. no way in hell he was ever beaten in a battle.

If you want the real deal take this or Gracies Jujitsu either way you can't go wrong. Never NEVER take karate.. that is the worst martial arts ever.. the movements are so jerky and choppy and they are so open to attack easily. *Cough* tiger shulzman If they were ever in a competition with the Gracies they would be gone. So thats my oppinion.. sorry for any karate people here, but its true. If you go against any JKD who has experience I suggest you quit before you even start. What you want in a style is fluid and direct..anything but karate.. I'd take wushu or kungfu over that, but if you want actual art this is it. Ya know if I took karate I probably wouldn't even know how a person would fight from their stance. Even if I did know I wouldn't know how to break it because all I would be thinking about is blocking and snapping.. by the time your doing that the other opponet would have countered you easily before you even punched.

So ya nothing to loose to take this art unless your badly hurt, but it builds confidence and your innerself. You will learn everything from jujistu to aikido to kungfu.. all those arts will form into one, which will teach you how to break other arts. You will also learn the history of why this art was formed and how it dominates the other arts. Master Gracie is still alive and the only person that can tell about who Bruce Lee was becuase he did spar against Bruce Lee.

So yea it is mighty intense... but fun as hell

Ya glass bottles hurt my friend gave me a vodka bottle he's like try this and I just did a one roll down and I was like MOTEHR FFFF... fuggin made me tear.. all those bumps on my shins and going dug dug dug rofl..but then again I haven't really done it every day.. the only thing I do is punch brick walls or anything hard like steel.. Keep my knuckles in shape.. people wonder why I have big knuckles lol.. I was like cuz I can't feel anything when I punch heck you do that every day, condition it, just tapping on wood or brick and then testing it by punchign yourself you'll know how hard it is . Probably why my jaw is a little messed up.. I always have to put it back in place whenever it gets stuck rofl and it makes a *clinch noise. Then again you don't do it right you'll get major artheritis when you grow older.. I'm getting a little bit cuz i didn't condition my right hand correctly.. its not major I just have to feel it around and massage it.

Re: Oh ya

No offense, DJ Lac, but before you write another 5 paragraphs about JKD: have you ever been to a JKD class? You have a few valid points, but most of it is totally off.

I doubt that a JKD teacher (if you ever had one) would say something like that; i hope you don't believe this cause otherwise you're going to make a big mistake if you ever have to fight against a larger group.

In the USMC, we have MCMAP, Marine Corps Martial Arts Program. It's divided up into 5 colored belts, which 3 of the colored ones have tabs to signify instructor status. MCMAP is composed of various martial arts including Judo, Tae Kwan Do, and Karate.

I'm a Grey belt for now, working on my Green. Hopefully I will get put on the green belt instructor course so I can teach the skills I learned to the new TAN and Grey belt wearers.

BLACK (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)

plus im wondering how many of you have been in fights. REAL fights, not that bullshit where you push around a bit and someone falls down. im talkin heads smashed into walls, busted knuckles ass kickings.

you realize pretty quick that a fight is about 3 punches and then you are on the ground biting, and gouging eyes, and choking people.

Your 100% right here. I think a lot people learn martial arts just so if they ever get into a fight they can kick arse and I think a lot of them types of people are in for a big shock, I know so many people who have done martial arts gone off shooting their mouths off and got a complete fucking shoeing off a proper brawler.

I'm not knocking any martial arts at all I did tae kwon do up to green belt and did actually teach me to kick really fucking hard. However the proper fighting I've learnt is off my family who do boxing. When your in a proper real fight you don't have the time to try an fancy shit if you try and kick someone straight away they'll simply grab your leg and fucking break it or just put you on your arse.

I've had 100s of REAL fights in my life, and I've only ever high kicked twice (not counting booting them on the floor in stomach or the bollocks btw) and that was when the other person was in a bad state, and I now wouldn't even dream of it.

And about martial arts the one I think is handy in a bar brawl is aikido I used to work with a guy who done aikido, and he put me on my arse once and all he done was turned my wrist next thing I knew I was on the floor. However any fighting when you grab and stuff you have to be careful like just make sure you pull off whatever move you've got quick cos if anyone has grabbed hold of me trying to throw me first thing I'll do is fucking headbutt them and they won't get up from that if I connect with their nose.

I do think martial arts teach good self disapline like boxing can do sometimes and most people I know who are decent at martial arts rarely get into fights and their modest people. The guys who think their rough because they've earned a middle type belt and do martial arts who go out looking for trouble fucking get trouble I've fought quite a few people who were supposidly hard as they knew martial arts and I tell you what I fucking wiped the floor with them.

But good on you lads etc for learning something it may seem like I'm knocking but I ain't. If people learn it for self protection etc and self disapline its all good and I have respect for them because at the end of the day you will be the ones who get higher belts you will be the ones who can throw decent punches and kick correctly, however the guys who want to do it to go out get into fights etc and try and fight like Bruce Lee all I can say is embrace yourself for a really big shock and a night or a few weeks in casulty/ER.

He's certainly not the only person that can "tell about who Bruce Lee was". There are plenty of people alive who knew him and sparred with him regularly. There are still people around who fought challenge fights against him; people who knew him as personal a friend; and even people who taught him MA.
Also just because one of the Gracie's claims to have sparred with Bruce Lee, doesn't mean there's a real "link" between JKD and BJJ. I'm no expert on JKD, but I've never heard it described as a "groundfighting" style.

yes as you have read my other posts I have taken it for a year privately trained.. and Aikido for 2 years

Hey am not trying to Bs everyone if I may be wrong on some points I might be rusty but what I've learned through my training is mostly how to break other art, and the experiences I've had with other JKD members that have sparred against me.

So if I did offend anyone am sorry.. but don't make this a big deal if I miss a small bit or am off on how i explain things, correct me intstead of saying oh you got a few valid points but your totally off. For me I've only trained for a year so people who have trained longer may know more then me. It's like when I was in Aikido first year I was just taught the basic moves then the second year I was taught how to use those moves to make it deadly like breaking bones and hurting someone really badly. Any art has hidden agenda because they don't want to teach you how to kill someone first. I got in trouble for using Aikido in my highschool cuz someone was fussing with me so I took his wrist and flipped him to the lockers. My Sensai was like.. Do you understand the first rule in this Dojo? He's like "You may not use your art, but only in a LIFE & DEATh situation. Back then I was a stubborn and pissed off kid cuz people like to joke around with me, and I didn't like it. So if am wrong just correct me.. am always open to knowledge

Anyways about the groundfighting style, it is JKD.. It borrows same techniques as Gracies Jujitsu. Grappling, boxing, wrestling, mixed with aikido and all those other arts there are many.. But Bruce Lee would never consider it as a style..since all styles are used in some ways in JKD.. It has a blend too it, so basically my oppinion on the ground fighting. When I trained it was mostly close combat and interception.. It was groudnfighting to what I believe in since if you went against a kicker you know to keep close and grapple him down, but if its a boxer and a good grapple you know to use your kicks and stay far away or else your scrwed.. I was taught to never touch the ground when you fight.. once your on the ground it would be harder to maneuver.. your best bet is to keep the stance your in and intercept from there.
