It's more about the greater implications of this particular event. 30 people just died in a U.S. air strike on a wedding in Afghanistan and like over 50 people just died in Iraq. It's more about the fact that an act of terrorism has just taken place on U.S. soil.

Yes it's the Boston Marathon so of course it's going to take headlines, but that doesn't mean there's a bunch of other stories (like you've alluded to) that don't deserve the same coverage.
It's the cycle, man. They control it and it effects how people who watch it think and act.

very sad state of affairs, looks like homegrown terrorism...who knows? there are talks about bomb drills prior to the explosions, and even suspicion of this event being a false flag? Again, pure speculation, what matters is that it happened.
I've studied the history of ETA/IRA (Basque and Irish terrorism) and this is the kind of stuff they specialize in; symbolic signature-terrorism. Again, pure speculation...
