i also fully disagree with the notion that dj's shouldn't worry about mp3 livesets etc. Surely the greatest talent of a dj lies in being able to take a listener on a journey if they're sitting at home/on their computer. If they can do that, then imagine just how much greater the atmosphere is at the actual event.
i disagree with your disagreement. Djs dont have enough records to play a different set every night which is truly awesome. All the people sitting behind their puters downloading their 10th tiesto set this week isnt someone who the DJs should cater for. When I go to see armin this friday, i dont want him to play a set to cater for the people who have heard all of his sets for the past 2 months. I do want to hear some new stuff, but I want to hear a few of the classics too.

PvD Has proved himself perfectly at the Rosenmontags Rave, the set he played there was absoloutley amazing and moved around from minimalistic techno to bangin uplifting trance.
I Think he is one of the greatest DJs of our generation along with Sasha and Digweed, Tenaglia, Carl Cox and Rui Da Silva [You should catch him live, hes awesome!]

Oh come on.
Think of all the loads of mp3s you, I and everyone else has of both
known and pretty unknown artist that just kick ass. There is lots
and lots of kickass tracks in all genres (which PvD has proven, tha the plays many genres),
there shouldnt be any problem for him to play a bit more different
then he does (altho the rosenmontag and nature one were interesting).
I can't believe that PvD would have a fixed recordbudget of 20£ a month,
then he should come to me for money and il help him out.
The bottomline is that I cant believe that PvD just buys selected
vinyls that the audience likes, he has loads of vinyls and he does
have the capacity to make a totally different set but he won't.
Maybe because the listeners expects some tunes that they have heard
before or just because he don't wanna loose popularity.
DJs should experiment.
