i don't know what you guys are going on about, 15+ events aren't bad at all

last years twotribes at gold coast was 15+, and to tell you the truth i didn't see any underage teeny boppers/posers/non electronica loving ppl.

the simple fact of the matter is that electronica in australia is far from mainstream. trancey ash and co. who are underage, take a second to think about just how many of YOUR friends are really into electronica, enough to want to pay 60/70 odd dollars? no. the majority of underage ppl are into either hiphop/rnb or the punk/rock (in both commercial and quality forms).

the conception that there will be a swarming group of teens to descend upon twotribes is just stupid. you won't see it heavily marketed on tv such as rhumba or some other crap like big day out, so there's nothing to worry about.

That's probably very true, I doubt the teenyboppers will be out in force for something like TT. However, there was a very small police presence last year, quite subtle, simply because they weren't needed (except for drug raids). But at the 15+ Gatecrasher event at the same venue 2 months later, they were everywhere - I think there were like 4 separate stabbings that night

This sort of thing very rarely happens at overage events, yet seems to be commonplace at underage ones?

That's why I'm not keen on 15+ events...

Yeh your so right. I'm starting to get pissed off with all the underage hatingness. It seems as though these days if you are underage your a little ****** that knows nothing, listens to teenybopper crap, dances in circles, and goes to big dance events for no reason other than to be cool. If you hate them so much don;t come to the Sydney one, simple.

Yeh your right man i know about 10 people at school that really like electronica, and thats about it. Doesn;t mean the rest are teeny boppers by the way.

webmeister, about Gatecrasher you might like to take note that it was advertised heavily on 96.1, Sydney's leading Pop/RNB station. They were advertising it every add break and giving away piles of tickets to it.

hehehe.. yep remember that one.. but i DO think that they will DO that again for TT.

why woulndt they?.

if they have plans to make it 15+
then they will use EVERY single way of promotion to get them there....

personally,. i dont care the age. as long as they are well behaved and are there for the MUSIC and nothing else.

yes, true...I don't know many people who are really into dance. But! I do know people who would pay $70 to go to Two Tribes, just because it's a festival. The names Dave Seaman and Armin van Buuren may mean nothing to them, but some people I know will see "Electronic Music Festival" on the flyers, and think "ah yeah, that looks like fun!" But not to worry, these people aren't the heinous teenies that you all so despise

I'm very sure that you won't be seeing a swarm of 15 y.old girls screaming out "I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! TAKE ME! TAKE ME!", Rumba style, at TT...but, for sure, there will be underage teens there who aren't hardcore trance fans. However, the majority of people at TT will probably be over 18+. I don't think the fact it's a 15+ event should be too much of a problem for all you oldies.

oh god, I hope not!

Not all under 18s are out there to ruin your night! Just like 18+, we would like to have some fun as well! I can't see how having people in the 15-17 year old demographic at an event is such a problem. Sure, there may be some people in that age demographic who like to dance in circles (truly, that is the only negative I can think of regarding 15-17 year olds), but is that honestly going to wreck one's night?! I think not! Such behaviour can be irritating, but is that a reason for not allowing 15-17 year olds into events like Two Tribes? And I’m sure there are 18+ people who dance in the funny circles as well. I don’t believe it to be a practice exclusive to people in the 15-17 age group.

Seeing such quality internationals such as Armin van Buuren, Sander K and Dave Seaman (as well as many others) is a wonderful opportunity! And it would be shame for people to miss out just because they’re perceived to be "too young" by the law. Shouldn’t we all be happy that 15-17 year olds are given the chance to join in the fun of Two Tribes? To have this massive line up, and then not be allowed to go is such a waste.

As for stabbings at the underage Gatecrasher event...I don’t believe that to be something unique to underage events! There is violence everywhere in society. And weren’t there shootings at Hard Kandy recently? Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that an 18+ club? There will always be individuals out there who spoil events for everyone, regardless of an event being for 15+ or 18+. Don’t make 15-17 year olds scapegoats for those atrocities.

So, please, don’t act so condescending towards those who are younger than you. You were all at that age at some point in your lives. Just imagine yourself being 16 and it being illegal for you to go see the djs you adore so much. I know it fucking tears me apart missing such opportunities! We really aren’t that bad.

Better hope it is 18+!!! Can we have some clarity on this? From what I'm reading, Sydney will be 15+, but what about Melbourne?
