First, your posted lyrics are incorrect in a couple spots, the only major one being "in the air to set me free." That's "in the end you set me free."
Second, the meaning of the song is much easier to understand if you look at the unreleased lyrics. The toned-down, radio-friendly, saccharrine lyrics of the released version serve to demolish the original meaning.
Southern Sun, in its original form, is about someone who cannot bear the loss and scorn of her former lover, and contemplates suicide as an escape from the misery. Maverick executives didn't think it was stupid and sunny enough for radio rotation, and forced Oakenfold to change it after the song had already been made.

Im not trying to piss people off, or be an elitist, or any of that stuff, but inn my opinion As The Rush Comes has the cheesiest lyrics of any EDM tune ive heard.
