SO like im gueessing it would be wayyyy bad for someone to stop anti depresants. Or is like a 5 step program of difrent drugs to get u off. Just wondering cuz i know some people who are on meds and I can see blatent changes in there personality that sux ass, i know there dependant on them and they dont have a will of there own when it comes to living sober.

My mother's friend is also taking anti-depressants, sorry i don't know which one. But every couple of months she feels that she doesn't need anti-depresseants. So she stops, and then the depression comes back. She goes to the doctor and the doctor says the same thing "u need to get back on meds." My best guess is that i'll be on anti-depressants for quite a while

OK hate to hog the thred but i have one more question. Does it
concern u that as u say youl be on em for a while?? I mean your body constantly has to expell all these chems and clean you blood right?? And like if ur body becomes addicted and u cant fucntion without em doesnt that bring up certain problems?? I can understand if uve got like a permenant chemical imbalance or somthing like that if those things really exist. A guy in med school told me those can easily be fixed by eating right and working out a bit every day. I dont know if hes right or anything. So ya what do u think man??

i'm no SUPER expert on my medications, as far as i know, i'll be on them for a long time, unless insurance stops paying, at which i have plan b, which will answer ur question about ur med school friend.
Eating correctly and exercize is all about another natural drug named Endorphins. When in pain or struggle, the body will secrete Endorphins throughout the body to ease the pain, almost like a painkiller. When i used to run in the morning, i, well i can't remember. I was so high off the endorphins. Eating right will send the correct amount of Endorphins through the body. Not eating right will reduce the endorphins potency. Exercizing releases these endorphins and will push u to exercize more and within secods u'll be back in front of your house, wondering where u've been the last 30 minutes. High off endorphins

to the best of my knowledge:
actually, i don't think there are any drugs out there that handle with the release of endorphins. Well, with my experience, i get really high off of my endorphins when i push my body to the ABSOLUTE LIMIT.
Actually, ecstasy secretes seratonin, but it secretes it so much to an unhealthy amount. This is why many people become "down" when the ecstasy is all used up, they have no seratonin to make them feel good.

Like I mentioned before, anti-depressants work mostly by keeping the serotonine that your body naturally produces in the neurons (technically speaking in the post-synaptic cleft). Serotonine is a neuro transmitter meaning it helps the neural signals that make you feel happy (among other things like motility of your intestines). When you take a drug like prozac, it keeps the serotonine there longer and promotes the release of serotonine. Some drugs mimic the effect of serotonine and bind to the serotonine receptors. It's all really complicated, scientist still don't really know why it works like it does.
