Ok..I agree with you alot of people are trying to be what they are not. But society has a predetermined notion of how a certain person suppose to act based on the individual's race (i.e, black=rap,white=rock n roll). If a white guy grew up with hip pop, in a hip pop dominant society, people think just because he is white and dress hip pop means he is a wannabe black. Or if a black guy grew up with rock music and loves it, people will think he is a wannabe white. And the worst thing is, most of the criticisms these people face are from people of their own race. That to me is quite sad. People just have this idea of how a certain person should act based only on race or sex, without considering what other influences that person might have had in their life.
All I am trying to say is stay true to yourself and your roots, and not to worry about what other people think you should be.
Just my thoughts on this matter.
