Alright!! It looks like Sennheiser finally came out with a "DJ" version of the HD280 Pro's... kickass... the only difference that I can tell is that they are marketing them as DJ headphones... and they are Silver! WOohoo!! (posting this to all the headphone threads...)

Son of a bitch! My black ones are in the mail! actually, that's OK, I don't want silver ones anyway, i'm not much for the "flashy" look, i like to let the tunes speak for themselves.
the pioneer are a bit more expensive than the technics, but price really is not an issue, however im not going crazy and paying $400-$500 for headphones :P
For some good comments of mine regarding Sony MDR-V6 / MDR-7506 (great DJ'ing phones), as well as some discussion on Sennheiser HD-280 Pro (good and bad), see this thread:
Well I sent my HD280 Pros in to the manufacturer to get fixed (got the order # through Sennheiser's website and everything). Has anyone else gone through this and know how long it usually takes before you get them back?

the only headphone speciallist anyone has mentioned is sennheiser.
sony's speciallism is in walkmans-fact! they dont make good hi-fi's or headphones. the headphones are too big with massive slow drivers in them. the plastic they re made of is brittle and breaks very quickly on the road. ferry etc probably get paid to wear what he does.
pioneer- the only thing they do well is cd players. they have no specialism in loudspeaker design and have always been at the lower end of the hi fi market. again the drivers are too big and slow.
technics- great turntables but thats about it. the 1200 mixer is rubbish and overpriced and the headphones follow the same qualities at the above two.
these three are all similar. the drivers are too big to be driven accurately by the sub 1watt output from headphone amps in mixers. they attempt to reproduce very low frequencies when they dont need to.
sennheiser- the most recognised manufacturer of headphones in the world. they speciallise in professional/studio gear only and have been on top for years and years. smaller drive units in the hd25/ 25sp which are quicker responding and more efficient. materials- flexible plastic that you can bend and it wont break. very small and light. so light that you forget your wearing them. if you cant affors the hd25's then get the 25sp's. theyre only fifty quid on ebay!
