True that man. We should cancel all UofT lectures, because alot of students are from scarborough/markham. We should also cancel the TTC, cuz it goes into scarborough. Ever been in a con hall lecture with over 800 people? or ride the subway during rush hour? SARS deathtrap man...

Well, since it was in Canada, a lot of Canadian profs and researchers here and also from the States. If you think that they were all coming from Hong Kong then you are mistaken. Plus, people from Hong Kong can't travel at the moment anyways.

Exactly! There are some crazy drivers in Toronto!!!! The chances of getting hit by a car in Toronto are very high which means the risk of getting SARS is just as high!
But on a more serious note: I'll still be going to see pvd, I know SARS is a serious problem, but again the chances of getting it are quite low, and also why let fear take over your life?
And, for those who are THAT paranoid about SARS that they aren't going to go to Viva on the 20th, why not just go see PVD at Aria in Montreal on the 17th? Sure it's a 6-7 hour car drive, but if it's for seeing PVD then I say go for it.

you might have it and not know it since symptoms don't become apparent right away which is why people are asked to quarantine themselves for 10 days until they know forsure ..
