He is a damn good dj and producer for that type of trance. Do i think he will get a large enough pull to compete against the other events that night - probably not unfortunately, unless NYE in denver this year wont be that busy. So I am pissed they booked him for NYE since i would rather see him at a night where he can get a good crowd of people. He is very energetic and so are his sets so in that sense, if not much is going on that night that would compete against him, it would be a great show for trance fans.

I preffered his set at cervantes over vinyl by far. Once again saying that many events, djs do much better at events where the people show up because they know the dj rather than just to go to the club. The go off the vibe of the crowd rather than those standing around with a cup in their hand. So for a NYE party in general, i woudnt really consider going to see anyone at vinyl no matter who the dj is. Not the greatest party atmosphere there even if the place is full. But that is just what i am into.

Well if you're in CA then just maybe they play better at a party than a club.... But you can't tell me DJ's play better here at a "rave" than the club. You really think that all the underage noodle etard kids who go to "massives" just go for the DJ?? LOL!! Yeah... That's why they're giving each other lights shows and sitting on the ground cause they're enjoying the DJ.... Im sure the DJ's get an AMAZING energy and vibe from that.

No, what i am saying is that when a club like vinyl which isnt that great to start with gets a dj, who, given other artists to compete with, wont be able to fill a club event up, the set will usually suck. I have seen this many a times at the church and vinyl. If the event was a rave, you get more people all around and so you automatically increase the odds of people knowing the dj. Same applies for 21 and over as well though man. Going to an event that has a good crowd at a good venue vs an event that has the opposite. djs feed off of the vibe and energy. Vinyl just doesnt have that most of the time no matter how many show up to the place. Beta on the other hand looks to have many who go to events because they know the djs. The crowd there is great. Vinyl and church crowd isnt that great because the venues arent that great.

A few years ago, I saw Darude down in Cleveland when KT opened for him. He was actually a good DJ - he only played Sandstorm at the very end of the set and mostly due to the etards yelling for it, lol.

It's not my brand of music but, I will say, for one of the "oldies" who dared to go cheese, he def came back from it far better than Joakenfold or Tiestor (he remixed PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN FER CHRISSAKES!).

And I do expect more from Denver for NYE - c'mon Beta! You've raised the bar for the quality of DJs in this town - now it's time to keep it up. With Beyer, Misstress Barbara, and Christian Smith being at the CoClubs in the past two months, they are still fighting back and Beta has booked it's fair share of the "cheese" lately. Give me someone dark and dirty and different this year - Danny Howells marathon set perhaps? Probably not but I can hope.

Well im guitting with vinyl and the church as much as possible since those never were really that enjoyable. Beta on the other hand is great and will be seeing a lot of me there. No matter who the dj is, big or small, many are familiar with the music and go to have a good time rather than stand around. It is designed more for the club like people - even though it appears to target the more upper class like club goer.

Unfortunately its not like we have much of a choice. If someone like Ferry Corsten ever comes to Denver, it will be at a club. We don't have a large enough scene to actually cause huge demand for those guys at raves, nor do we have a production crew with a large enough bank roll to actually consistently book them for raves.

The past few times i've been to the church and vinyl the crowd consists of 3/4 of the people standing around drinking a beer trying to look cool, 1/8 trying to chase after the 10 girls total in the club, and the other 1/8th in the very front having a good time, who actually came to see the DJ.

I would love to stop going to SoCo, cause tbh, it sucks compared to what it could be, but like i said, we're stuck with whatever we can get here.

and yea, with beta, there is more competition, however, the ones getting booked at coclubs dont pull me as much because i know no matter how good the dj is, the place wont be that fun. Sure there are those who can simply stand around drinking and have fun, but that makes a shitty vibe. That is no club atmosphere. At beta, becuase the venue is small and the way it is set up, the place always feels alive. You aren't cornered off by people standing around.
