Calendar to phone:
Just go to settings, and mobile set up. Enter your carrier and number, and you will get a confirmation code. After that you are all set!

You can have it send you a text with each appointment at the beginning of the day, or a certain amount of time before each meeting (I have it set to 1 hour before each). Also you can get it to send a daily itinerary when ever you choose.

bah. looks like the email thing will cost me 15cents per message.

i don't use the google calendar but it's a really cool feature.

BlackBerry Thunder 9500 surfaces, taking on iPhone 3G

The full touch-based BlackBerry Thunder 9500 has been awash in rumors online. Now several official photos have leaked to prove that the Thunder is a real deal and it will boast a spanking new Blackberry Touch UI OS.

If you have accidentally felt that you may be riding the tech wave with your super latest high tech mobile phone, RIM might just be able to prove you wrong. While we are still waiting for an official announcement, meet the BlackBerry Thunder.

The BlackBerry Thunder 9500 will run on a new Blackberry OS that's fully touch-centric and will sport a 2.5" 65K color touchscreen TFT display with 360 x 480 pixels resolution. Most importantly it will be a hybrid device, working in GSM and EV-DO networks supporting EDGE/HSDPA and built-in GPS.

Interestingly enough, those press-grade photos leak just days before the Apple iPhone 3G release in what seems to be a Blackberry PR attempt to dissuade some potential iPhone 3G customers.

And indeed, it looks like Apple iPhone 3G has got a tough competitor in the face of the BlackBerry Thunder. The latter will run a carrier music store which is similar to the iPhone's iTunes store and will allow users to purchase songs directly from their device.

Internet browsing on BlackBerry Thunder will be significantly improved to match the superb Safari browser in the iPhone. We hope the Thunder will also sport the sweet auto screen rotation feature as well - it's all about accelerometers these days.

The feature-rich device will probably run on the 624 MHz CPU known from the recently announced Blackberry Bold.

The BlackBerry Thunder 9500 will be exclusively available for Verizon and Vodafone customers but its pricing and availability are not confirmed by a reliable source.

Gotta love how PHONE features are no longer even advertised? I can't remember when I saw an ad which states that the phone allows you to make calls any more easily.

Finally you listen to reason and get a Nokia. They make the best phones, hands down. Maybe not the best media centers, but everything to do with phoning is top notch.

you don't need one anymore with Rogers either. I believe this is a result of all the bad press that was brought on by ruinediphone.com and other media outlets!

PS. I don't understand why Rogers is taking so much heat. So far, from what I've seen, every country that has offered the iPhone (Besides US & UK) have horrible rates...

Check out New Zealand:

quote:

Anyway, here's out it breaks down: on a maxed-out plan, you get a 16GB iPhone 3G for $349 and pay $250 a month, which nets you 600 anytime minutes, 600 texts, and 1GB of data. That works out to $264 for the phone and $189 for the plan in US currency, so you get a little bit of a break on the phone (AT&T charges $299), but in exchange, you get totally hosed beyond comprehension on the plan. Americans shelling out $149.99 will get unlimited voice, unlimited data, and unlimited texts, for which they'll gladly pay the $35 extra up front we'd imagine -- so yeah, by our voodoo calculations, that's about a raw a deal as any we've seen.
