I just added in the Discounted Cash Flow Model into my Intrinsic Value spreadsheet. Took me TWO DAYS. I don't even understand the whole concept. I just get the formulas and put them in.

Ha! You're a gambler! How's that going for ya?
I believe it impossible for speculators to beat the market over the long-term time periods.

DCF is a methodology that allows analysts to rationalize their price targets.
Me and capitalizt made predictions about oil back in October 2007. I said $90 was too high, and it should come down at some time. Cap said oil was going to be 100+. He turned out to be very right. But I still think $90 is too expensive!

erratic.
trading is not speculation at all though, it's just piggybacking on the backs of those that are moving the markets. not much risk there, no holding positions overnight. no playing with FOMC meetings or any news.

Do you ever use it?
I've got 16 different formulas for intrinsic value, with only two DCF formulas out of that 16. I'm scouring finance textbooks, Aswath Damodaran's website, wikipedia, investopedia for any valuation formulas I can find. I'm going to buy "Financial Modeling" from amazon..see what's in their. I'm surprised at the amount of books on financial modeling available these days..

you don't. you watch for price action at support/resistance, it seriously works very very very well. there's no doubt that people that are moving the markets are aware of them. i made money on the bounce up today in the SPY, caught like 70% of the move.
