2560x1600 is my monitor's native resolution. I refuse to run it at anything other than that. If I run games at 1280x800 for example my monitor has to upscale everything and it blurs. I like a crisp picture and a large display, that's why I tend to stick with them.
Thanks for the obvious facts regarding newer generations of cards, I'm actually more concerned about power consumption and release dates than the obvious fact that a 9800GTX will spank a pair of 8800s. I went from SLI 7800GTXs to a 7900GTX which flogged the 78s, then moved on to the 8800GTX earlier this year.
