I agree. Baseball might be boring for some people, but those people usually don't understand the intricacies of the game. It's a little more complex than "put the ball in the hole." I like that it's one of the few sports where the defense has the ball.

I thoroughly enjoy baseball, and way more today than when I was younger. Basketball is just more fun to watch in person, on tv, and play IMO. I'm not concerned about the ego stuff... baseball players are egomaniacs too.
Fun fact: throughout all of professional baseball at the player, coach, and manager level, there are a combined total of 26 college degrees.

To each his own I guess. It's a lot easier for me to enjoy watching a baseball game of teams I don't care about than a basketball game of teams I don't care about because I appreciate all the little things that go into each play (especially at a very high level like the majors). I'd have to disagree about playing though. I guess it's harder to organize a game between 18 people instead of 10 or 6, but there's nothing like playing baseball imo.
You're right though, most MLB players are recruited out of high school or leave college after a year or two.
On that note:
Best rivalry in all of sports. Except for this year because the Yankees suck. Go Sox

Baseball has always been a game that takes players out of a different system than the university leagues, unlike basketball and football.
Most come right out of high school, or ... someplace who knows where in the Caribbean or central America...

I guess there's some bias on my end because I played basketball all through school and into my freshman year of college when I hung it up (being 5'10 and white didn't work in my favor). I never played organized team baseball so I can't relate. But I was indoctrinated from birth as a Red Sox fan since I was in Boston my first 8 years of life, which has always kept me tuned in to the sport. I really appreciate the chess game of it, especially during the playoffs.

Is that the girl who created the fake identity or whatever to try and extort money from him or something?
Dirk is the man.
