btw, did anyone go to the Mets season finale? The ovation given by the crowd for Mike Piazza was incredible, definitely a day to remember.

I also had the fortune of seeing what is probably his last home run as a Met, last Thursday - a 450-foot shot that cleared the bleachers.
In that same game, Tom Glavine finished his season with a 2-hit complete game shutout, with 11 strikeouts - first double-digit K game for him since 1998!

well at least somebody is still watching the team on the otherside of town

LOL, I remember going to a Devil Ray game with a bunch of my friends, we were sitting in the CF bleachers, we were so loud and abnoxious that the center fielder moved like 20 ft. away from us from the 4th inning on. And every time Bernie took the field we would start chanting Bernie, after every play we would chant, he even turned around and waved a bunch of times, a couple times he told us to settle down, lol. Bleachers are the fucking best.

Oh and one memorable night, some guy was wearing a red sox hat in the bleachers, we took it, and lit it on fire.

First off, I seriously doubt any Major League player would change his positioning by 20 feet because of a few obnoxious fans.

Second... real mature.

That's horrible, if it was a new era cap thats pretty expensive. Why would you take and light someone's hat on fire?

Your actions just reinforces the negative stereotype associated with New York Yankee fans.

Even though the Phillies were playing against the Nationals, i was rooting for them (Philly) to make an appearence in the Post season. I kept coming back to mlb.com to check the Cubs Astros score. Too bad the 'stros won, i would've loved to seen a wildcard playoff game and seen the Phillies advance.

Yankees fans are tame compared to Phillies fans...

In 2000, I went to the Phillies-Mets home opener at the Vet. In the first half of the game, between innings there were at least 3 fans who ran onto the field. These big old security guards ran after them, grabbed them, slammed them to the astroturf and beat the living daylights out of them before the cops dragged them out of the field. I also saw one guy fall down 7 rows after getting clocked by another guy.

Hey, you tell that to him, all I know is he wasnt positioned in front of us the rest of the game.

As for the hat, every once in a while, you just gotta do what you gotta do - sometimes you gotta show youre blood is pinstripes. Boston fans should know damn well not to chill with the bleacher creatures. And honestly, I dont care if it was mature or not, it was fun.

PS: If the Yanks win it all, again, you might see a jersey (obviously fake, if not stolen) go up in smoke.

yes, thats a joke.

Well he is just a big fat guy. Whose right of his is it to decide if you're naughty or nice? I'd boo him too...

so like taking a swing at a player while he's going to field a ball doesn't leave any room for stereotyping?

Or how about flipping cars and starting fires on the street because a professional sports team won a championship?

stereotype? how about this one... civilized?
