Sorry bout Hee-Haw Hell, Mr S.

Mebot, I was in class or in lab all day. I left my room at 7:15 and returned at 5:50. Now dinner then studying. I am taking 6 classes and M and W are the busiest days. My brain shouldn't have to think this much. I wish I could think faster.

Let's see, hi to Daff and Orbs and Bread and Phlo...and Occ and DaveS who sometimes appear but not often. The political place is my favorite forum lately but geez, I need a dictionary and sharp mind to understand half of what I read.

yeah, i've had a wild day. i was doing my degree audit last night and realized i could graduate in december, so i spent the day running around garnering the necessary signatures. have to acquire another signature tomorrow and meet with the registrar.

so, it looks like i may have some cool stuff going starting in january! if i can't get something with national geographic, i'll probably go to new york because they have about 800,000 mags and i have to be able to get a job with one of them.

hi everyone! mr s, sorry you're headed back to bumblefuck, that's brutal. echo, i'm so glad you're leaving your posts up now!! i'm watching newlyweds (again) because i'm addicted to it. hope you're all doing well.

It is time for I love the 80s wooooohooooooo!

MrS

Damn I wanted to watch that tonite!! but Monday's are my intro to film class movie night. We watched Frankenstein and The Wolf Man tonite to showcase the horror genre. Next week I think we're doing musicals so we're watching Singin' In the Rain.

Movies are fascinating and so is music.

I love the 80s strike back will be on again.

You've seen Wet Hot American Summer right Mr. S ?

Who can it be knocking at my door?
Go 'way, don't come 'round here no more.
Can't you see that it's late at night?
I'm very tired, and I'm not feeling right.
All I wish is to be alone;
Stay away, don't you invade my home.
Best off if you hang outside,
Don't come in - I'll only run and hide.

They are running I Love the 80s like every hour this week so you will most likely miss nothing.

I have not seen Wet Hot American Summer as far as I know.

Cool on the graduating early thing. I had to work like a madman to graduate on time cause I changed majors from Engineering to Theatre 3 semesters in. At least you save the tuition moneys.

National Geographic eh? You going to do writeups on the sex lives of monkeys?

Who can it be knocking at my door?
Make no sound, tip-toe across the floor.
If he hears, he’ll knock all day,
I’ll be trapped, and here I’ll have to stay.
I’ve done no harm, I keep to myself;
There’s nothing wrong with my state of mental health.
I like it here with my childhood friend;
Here they come, those feelings again!

Colin Hay is the man.

As for my day it was blah. I came home early cause I have a dentist appointment around 5 and will find out if I need a root canal

I got my per diem check for the weekend today and it is barely 1/4 of the last one which is good. It means I won't be there very long. But at least I don;t have to go to NYC and do the install we are doing there at the end of next week. I hate NYC.

Feels like we're falling into the arms of the night,
So if you're not ready, don't be holdin' me so tight.
I guess there's nothing left for me to explain;
Here's what you're gettin' and I don't want to change

IDENTIFY THIS TUNE.

I think I kind of missed the 80s. It ended when I was 5. In one of my deleted posts, I said that I can't figure out what lyrics are 80s (vs 70s or 60s or 50s) so if I missed by a few years or few decades...ummm, no big deal. So from this moment forward, I'm special in that I'm not restricted to the 80s thingy. But I did see a bit of that 80s show on VH1. RAther cool.

I've Got a Rock 'N roll Heart - Eric Clapton

(I cheated and used google but it did sound familiar)

You were 5 when the 80's ended?

Damn.

80s info....Vh-1 (stands for Video Hits One) was MTV's secondary station that played adult contemporary music back in the late 1980s Richard Marx, Michael Bolton, Kenny G, Bruce Hornsby and the Range were all big on their playlist. It was not until the mid 1990s that they revamped into a music news and info sort of station and eventually migrated to their current format. Which is, oddly, what MTV was like when Vh1 was new.

But the I Love the 80's show is stellar. I think they are going to show the Safety Dance in tonight's episode woop!

S-s-s-s A-a-a-a F-f-f-f E-e-e-e T-t-t-t Y-y-y-y
Safe, dance!

[Spoken]
We can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to
A place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind
And we can dance

[Sung]
We can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to
A place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind
And we can dance
Danc¨Ĥe!

We can go when we want to
The night is young and so am I
And we can dress real neat from our hats to our feet
And surprise 'em with the victory cry
Say, we can act if want to
If we don't nobody will
And you can act real rude and totally removed
And I can act like an imbecile

[Refrain]
I say, we can dance, we can dance
Everything out of control
We can dance, we can dance
We're doing it from wall to wall
We can dance, we can dance
Everybody look at your hands
We can dance, we can dance
Everybody takin' the cha-a-a-ance

Safety dance
Is it safe to dance
Is it safe to dance

S-s-s-s A-a-a-a F-f-f-f E-e-e-e T-t-t-t Y-y-y-y
Safe, dance!

We can dance if we want to
We've got all your life and mine
As long as we abuse it, never gonna lose it
Everything'll work out right
I say, we can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine

[Refrain]

Is it safe to dance, oh is it safe to dance [6x]
Is it safe to dance

Those lyrics are kinda off but they are the best set I found.

Ok I need to go and make a bank deposit before goin to the dentist...my account balance is 2 dollars

davs du!

I don't anymore. I think maybe I was just feeling shy. Or embarrassed. And worried about saying something the wrong way. And then someone said something (not about what I said but about the delete thing) and that was worse!

So I tried hard not to delete them...and I didn't. And it was okay. So now...no need.

Man, I'm so homesick. How are things there? When you come to study here, will you be in an advanced degree program? It's difficult to understand some professors in undergraduate classes. Some don't speak English very well and it's hard for someone like me to figure out what they are saying.
