You're not risking anything. If the cop doesn't have a radar the only way he can bust you is by tricking you into admitting that you were speeding. If he didn't have his speed gun on, then as long as you keep insisting that you weren't speeding by that much, it's your word against his... How you pull it off depends on how good a lier you are. Judging by GelatinPuffs posts, I would guess that he could pull it off. Again, I'd suggest that if there is no way that she can find out, just don't tell her.

I'd say he found a great way to see people's points of view... Long term relationships always run into tough problems and this one is one of the toughest. This thread brought out some great opinions, which probably wouldn't have been brought out if he had posted a poll. Granted he could've worded his hypothetical in a way that was more obvious and his reply to people's skepticism was a bit abrupt, maybe even rude... but still nothing that warrants the kind of response he got.

The mere notion that some people have so little control of their emotions that they threaten physical violence over a few wasted minutes typing is ridiculous. Especially the guys... didn't your dads ever teach you that a man retains control over his emotions even in adverse circumstances... not to mention stupid petty shit like this.

Even if this thread were to begin with the words “THIS IS A HYPOTHETICAL SITUATION” in large size 23 font, and was then followed by some sort of disclaimer stating how I am in no way in this situation myself, people would have still jumped to their own conclusions, and thought it was me in the situation(perhaps even more so).

It isn't a huge disadvantage for a couple of reasons. For starters, integrity or lack thereof carries through in everything you do. People who lie about stuff tend to lie with a great consistency. It shows what kind of person they are to anyone that is close to them. That being said, I'd never date a habitual liar

Not saying I've never lied in my life but I would say it's a pretty rare occurance I can't stand people that when they open their mouth you have to question what they're saying.

SFS' first. The word 'tend' is a lot like 'generally'. Cops tend to pull you over when you're speeding. A lie here and there certainly is not a statement of character, or ensures that lies will be told again. Everything is based on the human which the lie pertains to. If you use a lie as an emergency escape from John Q Law's money grubbing hand's then by all means, lie ten times to the cops. You should never lie to the ones you love, it's just a mean and unhonest thing to do.
