Wrong! Your friends version was probably bullshit, thats why we never have heard it! Or maybe your friend has amazing talent? I have spanned my production and tried my hand at "prog" and I have to say, it is nowhere NEAR as original as other electronic music! It isn't even as original as melodic or uplifting trance! Progressive trance has much less layers, and drags on repeating the same loop every 8-16 bars.
