For the car I was talking about, it's AWD, not RWD. There is one kid whose made a RWD version of it, but for some reason it's having larger drivetrain loss than the AWD.

Are you guys serious? If anything citrogen would be leading the WRC, with Ford behind it as tally'd points ranked higher by MANUFACTURER. And usually point tallying is a distribution between CAR and DRIVER. Solberg(subaru) is 2nd above Martin representing Ford. I think alot of the jibber jabber here is all OPINIONATED!

Some love domestic others love imports...the blocks are completely different...its like comparing cast iron to aluminum? wtf...and to be quite honest, 4 cylinders pushing out over 300+hp (modded or not "sti& evo") is quite an accomplishment.

Are you talking in terms of the GT40 production vehicle or the race version? If you're talking about the production vehicle then that's not very impressive IMO. The GT40 was created in the 60s (I believe) for the Le Mans circuit. So the idea of the GT40 has been around for over 30 years, Ford just revamped it and upgraded to lighter composite materials & better technology over the years.

Unless you did an engine swap and several other mods, it's a 240SX, jackass.

As for the people who are all "american muscle" or all for "japanese supercars", you're all retards. I know imports that can beat domestics and domestics that can beat imports. So quit being a discriminatory prick and go outside.

actually i completly dissagree... here's why

first of all the new version is the ford GT, not GT40 some asswipe copyrighted teh name and wouldnt sell it back to ford.... plus the new version is 4 inches taller and then we would have to call it hte GT44.... since the GT40 was only 40 inches tall.

secondly the origional GT40 was a 6 year design process. the new GT was a COMPLETE redesign from scratch. the only aspect of the origional is the body styling.

the origional started with a 302 small block ford for the Mark 1 and by the mark 4 had gone to a 429 big block V8 built by carroll shelby.

the new GT uses a completely new design of a 5.4 liter mod DOHC ford v8, all aluminum 32 valve with a roots supercharger putting 550+ ponys to the road. the frame and chassis were all redesigned using a tubular aluminum space frame and the body design especially the aerodynamics have been completely re done, it does look the same on the outside but underneath the car and the hood scoops at teh front have been extesively modified to improve downforces.

interior wise its not even the same planet. the origional was a gage cluster and racing seat. the new one has modernized interior styling.

now what i meant by a major accomplishment apart from being a gorgeous and amazing veichle as a whole is taht they took a prototype show car and had the vehichle ready for full scale production in just 12 months. that means all the manufacturers were lined up, stamps and dies were constructed to make the various parts, Romeo engine plant in MI created a new building on its grounds to hand build each one of the engines. plastics companies worked to build injection moulds for the various plastic componenets. etc etc... it is an amazing feat no other car can boast that kind of timing...... trust me, for our current launch of the 05 crown vic and grand marquis, the work for the redesigned parts started about 4 years ago.

I agree with this statement 100%. The American automobile industry seems to be stuck on the idea that "bigger is better" whereas the rest of the world (for the most part) likes to improve upon existing technology. It's almost like an American car is not viewed as truely American unless it has a V8 or larger under the hood.

These days you have 4 cylinder engines putting out the power that old V8 muscle cars did and getting gas milage that V8s could only dream about.

????? what the fuck do oyu call a ford 302 block? how bout one of the oldest engine designs in the industry and still being improved on today....... might i add that block is a favorite among car enthusiasts because of its ease of modification.

Hemi Magnum jackass. check it's gas milage and it's a v8 to boot . 4 cylinders can push power, look at the ecotec lisa kubo's car and the 2.2 from teh cavi. 1000 HP outta a 2.0. The best times outta 4 cylinders too, the hondas cant even compete.

Japanese can do good motors, toyota/lexus is erally th only one i like and respect. 980 HP outta the stock block is nothing to laugh at. The guy i believe lives in michigan with this car. But the saying goes and will always go, no replacement for displacement. It's proven time after time. The more you put in the more you can put out the higher numbers and the faster the times.

Hey jackass, that's all due to the Multi-Displacement System (MDS) that essentially turns that V8 into a four cylinder. No need for you to go around calling people names, I didn't even say shit to you.

Actualy S13 is a chassy (spelling?) code not an engine code...european 200SX, american 240SX and japanese 180SX are the same car if you dont count the engine. Also the sylvia S13 and the 180/200/240 are the same car. Different bodywork but the same car. So he can say he drives an S13. It would be different if he said he had an RB18DET

That thing is here that we dont agree on the criteria. Every time ive gotten into this argument, the muscle fan boys started throwing 1/4 miles times at me. This may not seem objective but a 1/4 time tells you shit about a cars overall performance, but for some people that is the only criteria that tell them if a car is good or not In general american cars suck at handling so they respond to this in the only way they know...bigger engines with more HP so logicaly they will be better in a straight line. But put them on a real race track where one needs to brake, shift and tackle corners they loose the HP advantage.

BTW yes the Ford GT is preety fast and the vette C6 doesnt handle like a vbette at all it can actualy take a corner at a decent speed (suprisiongly since it still has leaf springs ) but those are just two drops in the ocean...they are the best americans can do and they compete with the mostly average cars of the rest of the world
