Yoji was awesome in Osaka last weekend 8/20. no technical problems, played dumonde - cold... i was a happy camper.
the velfarre story is funny to me for several reasons... 1. velfarre gets alot of hype as having the best equipment in japan. 2. velfarre is owned by yojis record label. you would think that they would have fixed it, or switched him to the main dj booth at the back of the dance floor.... he had every right to walk off. |
To be quite honest, Velfarre has a lot of good technology running through it, but the sound system is by far NOT the best for Tokyo clubs...
Now, you say Velfarre is owned by Yoji's record label... which record label are you talking about? Yoji has his own label being Hellhouse Recordings... he is also under contract with Avex Traxx, and Avex is the label that owns Velfarre...
as for Yoji himself, ill just say that Yoji has a major attitude problem... he sees himself as some major rockstar when he's in his home country... nobody can get near him at all... he's not like other "superstar" DJs when they come to Japan, where you can BS with them and even have a drink with them at times... I remember when i talked to Yoji backstage after his final "Viva" night (my friend had him booked for Denver, I was the liason for him) and Yoji just had this hella arrogant attitude... as i was leaving, i remember hearing him rant off all over his agent for letting someone backstage...
good dj, can really work a crowd, but i have no respect for his attitude...
