19-8...hmm...if you think about it...it almost sounds like 1918.

If you people don't believe in curses and ghosts, you might want to start believing in them now. Scary, scary, scary stuff.

i dont like the red sox either but that was stupid bro.A simple Boston Red Sucks would do.After all that Wakefield talk they brought him in last night to relief meaning he wont start in game 4,shows what the red sox think of him as a starter,And he gave up 5 runs lol!shows what I thought of him as a reliever, I was right. They brought him in to keep the score close and the guy just blew it,again.

As for my 2nd fave team the Cardinals 2nights game is crucial, the astros got Oswalt.Even if the Astros pull one out tonight I still doubt they can win the series with those other pitchers they have, also Lidge threw 30 pitches last night so it looks like he might rest 2night.

Yeah big game tonight, a cards win and its as good as over! I thought if we were gonna lose one last night would have been it, Clemens is a living legend, to gove a line-up like the cards only two solo homers is pretty good going.

Brad Lidge is really insane. In 94.2 innings this year, he struck out 157. 157!!!!! In 94 innings. 14.93 K's per 9 innings. Yowzers. And to think they traded Wagner and then Dotel, and STILL wind up with one of the best closers in baseball.

*EDIT* Wow... he gave up more than 2 runs only 1 time all year. The only month he gave up more than 3 runs (Yes... I said 'month') was May when he gave up 8 in 18 innings. Take away that one 3 run outing and it would be 5 runs in 17 innings. Insane.

I knew that Wakefield would suck. EVERY thing that I have said will happen this post season has not happened. I'm normally great at this stuff. I called Boone's walkoff last year. I called Mueller's walkoff against Mariano in the Tek/Rod fight game. I called Bonds 700th homerun. This postseason though... not 1 thing that I have said will happen did happen. I said Orlando Cabrera would be the player of the postseason. Umm... yeah. I said Jaque Jones would hit a walkoff to win game 4 for his recently deceased pops. Didn't happen. I said Wakefield will own the Yankees. Yeahhhh.... I said that Arroyo would pitch a gem last night. So... not one thing I've said would happen has happened. I guess I lost my touch.

Just how good is Pujols? His third homer of the NLCS, he was instrumental in the Cards win over the dodgers and has had the best first few seasons in baseball in a long time! Rolen looking good this game and Marquis looking solid, early days yet but could be 3-1.

I get scared everytime Pujols comes up to bat. The man is probably the best in the game at the moment. 24 yrs of age and already posessing some great numbers. But...

...In the playoffs no one compares to Beltran. The man is simply insane. He hit his 8th homerun of the playoffs tying Bonds for the Major League Record, and its his 5th game in a row for a homerun. He is the deciding factor in the Astro's going to the playoffs. He probably won't be on the Astros next year, but he will lead the Astro's to the series this year. Once again, no one competes with Carlos Beltran in the playoffs. Outstanding.

-Steve

yea no doubt Pujols is putting up numbers comparable and even better than the all time greats at this stage of their career. He dosnt get much attention from the media cause he dosnt let his hair and beard grow or pick fights or hang around with a midget. He acts like a Profesional should.
Too bad the cardinals lost 2night,but on the bright side the Astros got Backe and Munro next 2 games and this offence did good against Oswalt so I dont see them letting up.The key is not to get to a game 7,would clemens pitch in game 6?

Que vivan los Yankees!

Carlos Beltran is definitely the star of these playoffs though, I hope he signs with the Yanks after this post-season.
