is it not blatently obvious though? the whole set was wank trance, apart from a filterheadz track, which happens to be the worst thing they have ever made. It was shit because the music was shit, its quite simple.

Yeah, but listen to all the wank trance PVD plays. He plays some great tracks and some overcommercialized garbage. I don't hear you bagging on him, ever. Tell him that his set is overplayed, too commercial, or whatever your reasoning for not liking it is. Saying someone's set is shit, but not expanding on it, is worthless. That's an opinion statement with no validation. I know that you know and understand the music, so demonstrate that rather than just flaming.

Just curious, what do you think is good music? Do you actually like trance? If so what kind?

yes PvD plays some shit, and if you cant see me saying that then you arent looking hard enough. Anyway theres no need to bring other djs into this... its not kuffdam versus.... its just comments on kuffdams mix, which was appauling. It was really bad, and anyone with an ounce of taste will not fail to reach this conclusion.

good music = anything with some kind of intensity, whether it be a straight up energetic 'trance' track or something a bit deeper. Theres no answer to the second question... what type of trance? I dont really know what you mean.

So, do you like any house or progressive? Or is trance the only "good" music?

how have you got that from what i said? Im wary of saying i like any 'trance' these days simply because of what it means to the sort of people on this forum...

The response you made, that I quoted, mentioned high intensity trance, or something deeper. I wondered if you meant deeper trance, only. I agree with you about trance nowadays. I feel that it is very difficult to find good trance tracks. That's why I am playing a lot more ethereal progressive (having a melodic edge, but not really trance), and deep progressive. I still play a few trance tracks here and there, but they are usually older tracks or remixes of older tracks with a few new tracks thrown in. I wasn't attacking you on that question, merely asking. If you had said that only trance is good, then I would have laughed, as you can understand.

well my favourite dj is WestBam, make of that what you will... Moguai has also been doing some really good things over the past year or so...

pretty much anything with some kind of edge, it doesnt matter if its 'trance' or techno or house, even ambient stuff can be so much more intense than some of the 'trance' floating about today (which is just plain shallow, hollow and weak) This type of music can be found on kuffdam's mix, which is why i didnt like it.

However, im wasting my breath, any view that isnt 'omfg' just does not wash apparently, no matter how often you back it up.

this just proves my point, whats the point of ever trying to explain yourself when you just get shouted down by the 'omfg' brigade.

7. Magnolia - Its All In Vain (Dogzilla Mix)
8. Signum - First Strike (2004 Remake)
9. Delerium - Silence (Above & Beyond Mix)

The mix was given along with several cd's when I met PVD last week at his Scotland gig. He told me he doens't listen to mix cd's so probably wouldn't get back to me on that....

Later that week I was contacted and told that he had listened to them and really enjoyed this mix and would like to use the first 30 mins of the mix on his show..... so his choice....

The guests only ever get 30 mins. I was not ask to do a new mix as he wanted this one for the show and simply confirmed with me that I would be to be a guest.

I think you dug your own hole here, if you had said this in the first post when you where promoting your guest mix mabey people would have been less harsh.

The thread you started sounded as if this was gonna be a live 30 min mix by you, not half of a mix which you had done before it was gonna be aired.

I didn't listen to the show but the tracklist looks a bit boring and doesn't seem like it would flow much, mabey you should have a word with PVD and get him to play the last half on another show.
