This reminds me of the star trek episode where the vulcans challenged the crew of deep space nine to a baseball game.
The captain of the vulcan team was quite conceited, and thought that vulcans were superior to humans in every way, and that only they were worthy of operating a starship.
As any good star trek dork would know, the vulcans are better than humans at everything, they are smarter, stronger, faster, more inventive. A vulcan child would think of the most fantastic human inventions as toys.
Vulcans dont use bias in making any of their decisions, they choose the best course of action by following advanced logic, whereas humans rely on instinct, and feelings in addition to a lower level logic system.
So the Vulcan baseball team challenged the deep space nine crew, and absolutely kicked their asses, the DS9 team scored maybe once or twice.
After the baseball game outside of the holosuite, the vulcan team was acting proud(without showing their emotions of course), hoping that the humans would be sad and agree that they were inferior.
But it didn't happen, the DS9 crew was laughing, they had fun playing baseball. They were proud of what they did together, despite the fact that the vulcans kicked their asses.
The vulcans went home, with their mission to piss off the DS9 crew and make them feel inferior unnacomplished. The captain of the vulcan team had that angry jealous look in his eye, and got even more pissed off when a human noticed, so he threw a tantrum and left.
This ASOT vs elite stuff kind of reminds me of vulcans vs the crew of DS9. The ASOT side being the humans, and the vulcans symbolising the elites. You "elites" can be as superior as you want, your music might be more inventive, it might be more original, it might pwn in comparison to the trance that comes out today.
But humans just dont give a fuck about those things, they have feelings and biases, they like having fun. Win all the contests, make all the comparisons that you want, the kids are still gonna go out and have a good time, and its not gonna be with your "superior" music because all we ever hear from you elites is complaining.
Humans have done many amazing things that the vulcans said were impossible.
It doesnt matter if something is forward thinking or not, lets just shut up, go out, and have some fun.
