it's all about:

the way kids are brought up here and the way the media and our role models influence us -- e.g. wanting to look cool and tough at the club, showing up to prove something, etc.... bunch of media-influenced BS

and

the drinking age

East coast bias!! Sorry, I'm from Seattle. But it also includes California (population 50 million). Las Vegas is 21+. Any midwestern state. Places in the south.

Everything in society is based on what the media presents us with. The American society is becoming more and more relient on the media to provide us with everything. Society is going down the tubes.

man, you need to be shot...

i was reading some of the older replies to this topic and came across this, Highmay.... see, here you say "an occupation has nothing to do with vibe at a nightclub" in reply to something sandstorm03 said, yet HOW does this back up ur whole argument on keeping Crobar 21+.... an occupation AS well as the age limit has nothing to do with vibe at a nightclub.... like i said, ne club coulda brought in Tiesto, whether 18+ and 21+, and woulda had the same crowd... his name's on the newest "dance" CDs, of course ur gunna get a different crowd, now THAT is what has to do with vibe at a nightclub.

21+ would have been a different crowd in my mind. Let me ask you a an easy question, have you been to 21+ only events at Crobar?

I'm saying that 18+ DOES create a different vibe at CROBAR. We aren't comparing to Avalon because Avalon is a cess pool no matter what.

Knowing someone that worked there, before Crobar had hidden ways of not allowing in people that didn't want in their clubs. Yes, it's exclusionary. They are obviously going for more money but the question remains, will that good vibe continue. To me, that's a concern.

Take away the good vibe, in the long run, it's less money.

Tough to say considering that all the guys look EXACTLY THE SAME (meat heads with spiked hair, white sneakers, muscle shirts, etc)

My final comment: I just don't want to party next to an 18 year old when I'm 28 years old. Trust me, it's a big age gap.

Likewise, if I had to wait until I was 21, I don't expect others to get it better than me. I'm selfish that way. So pooh on you.

Being a full-time gizmopper doesnt count as an occupation. nevertheless, just like its been said in almost every post the mentality of the younger crowd is different, whats so hard to comprehend? you read the yale newspaper dont you, it shouldnt be that hard. 21 and over attracts customers that are 30 years old and just want to have some fun as opposed to 18 and over where the age would approximate around 18-23/4 and most are wannabe toughguys walkin around with a stagger and others are on e dancin like pricks or in some k hole, in result the Minority is there just to have a low key fun time. Also, trying to relate crack and bottle of heineken is absurd. In any case to keep this thread on some path Crobar will keep its number one status on lock for quite some time, dont agree to much with the 18+ on parties either but business is business and money talks, as far as tiesto goes, people probably were concerned that the crowd wouldnt have been large enough on such short notice if it had stayed above 21. and those 3D t.v.'s kicked ass!

and P.s. some of us need to take this board more lightly, with a comment like pooh head the..lol.. is intended.
