I got a hold of that trancetribe australians productions cd thingy and basically all the tracks are crap repetitive boring and not really fresh at all.

That doesn't mean I don't like it but someone to make a real vocal track instead of a sample would be nice.

There is some good vocalists going round australia that are untapped.

You DJs out there who hate vocal tracks and wont play will never get anywhere because you can't see that 95% of punters in the club don't give a shit about "the new choon" or whatever they go to hear songs they know, like and heaven forbid sing along to.

yeah, what dave said. plus, as far as im concerned, if you dont like the song youre playing, how can you expect others to? not playing vocal tracks could even be part of the style of a particular DJ. it takes all sorts.

and i dont think youre giving the punters enough credit P.

Well maybe I don't give pnters much credit

but the average, for arguement sake 5am crowd, know what is going on but you go to any large party and people have no idea of what is going on in the music and all they want is to feel good, uplifted even.

I think most people on this board are not the average punter and some people get a scewed view of what makes good trance and a good dj set.

you could be right, but what makes the pros at the big events any less skewed?

and i really dont think you can synonymise "uplifted" with "vocals".

well no I was talking in general about uplifted but people do want to sing along..

the pros at big events play what ever tune the crowd reacts to (if they are good enough) I have noticed vocal tracks get a good healthy response.

Trance is all about big vocals and big synths. Its that simple. The creativity makes it exciting to listen to. I have not heard anything in this country that is ground breaking recently and I think it is people who are producing (or trying to) are to far up themselves and stale.
