According to Wikipedia it's supposedly a Danish speciality, but that has never been my impression. All this pish about "British Food" being crap, if you go to shitty chain restaurants (not just McD, but "Bella Pasta" or Little Johns) it'll be shit. As will pub food, it's alright but it probebly came from a microwave.

Additionally all the different parts of the UK have signature dishes and so if you haven't tried all of them you can't say anything about "British Food".

Fish and chips is common food, comparing it to handmade pasta (which I do myself actually) with truffles (think some are £500 a kg) is quite silly.

E.g. have you tried Haggis (even that is tourist choice)?

Porridge is Scottish and hence "British Food", if you include drinks what about Whisky (not the gay American stuff the stuff that has EU name/origin protection)?


So if you wade in as a tourist and try stuff without knowing the good places you'll get shit. I remeber in London these Americans getting fish and chips at seriously one of the shittest chippys I've ever been in they were all taking pictures of it and stuff, the place was as far from a dencent chippy as you could be.

They probebly think all chippys are like that and they arn't.

If I went to Pizza Hut and got a shit Pizza, conclusion Itallian Food is shit? I think not.

Aberdeen Angus (or Angus) beef is from Scotland, hence British food.

And belive me it's popular, if you eat beef and live in the US (and alot of other places) you've probebly eaten it as it's the most produced breed.

i think its funny, cause in swedish (and danish to i think?) a "danish" is called "wienerbröd" which pretty much means "bread from Vienna"... really confusing!!!

thats interesting, sounds much like the swedish EMU referendum, which really was a farse... cause really, the great majority of the population have no fucking clue about even what monetary policies means!!! i guess this is turning out similar, with ppl thinking lots of things which arent true, voteing for something to protest the government etc

today according a poll it was 53% for the no
47% for the yes

...the left party is divided ...they are not united which doesn't improve things at all ....
well we'll see the results but im scared france says no...the polls are not encouraging at all
