Saying stuff like people do about Tiësto is obligatory if you're that famous.
But it's still not right. I'm only 14 years old so I haven't been to any party at all =P But through simple math, logical thinking, I understand that Tiësto (and any other DJ in that division) is stressed and all. I can never ever believe that he stepped on your vinyl and stared at you, never.
the reason why he's stressed and having a hard life in a way is obvious, because he has to travel ALOT, he barely gets any spare time I guess, maybe that's a reason why he MIGHT not sign a vinyl or shirt or whatever.

I'm definitely not as experienced as you guys.
But for example

Live @ Pinkpop 2004, crowd goes completely insane
Dutch Dimension, what a killer play. MAN! Crowd seems to be enjoying it too.

That's only two examples, but good ones too.
I've never ever seen anything like Tiësto or ANY other DJ stepping on someones vinyl or being a total jackass, I can't even imagine it.

After I`ve listened Tiesto live I can clearly say that he was nearly satisfactory..Everyone was expecting much better! The reason for this disappintment is a short set, not lively shows, disconnection of Tiesto from the crowd etc..I think Tiesto changes his performance due to crowd..Even though there was a huge crowf oberthere lat night, he ENJOYS playing at famous events like GlobalGathering, Sensation, Creamfrields, Dance Valley etc..but anyway many people paid for him and went there to see him performing usual great set but he didn`t do that...he cared Cyprus as a training gig and played many unknown tracks and remixes...he also played some of his famous tracks to uplift the crowd though...anyway this is my opinion! i also seek your views mates!

I think that every DJ has its own bad and good sets. Can you imagine how often these DJ's travel... and each time people expect them to perform at the highest level. I think it is just impossible... of course, it would be nice if every DJ played each his set as "the last one in his life" but they are people too... They get tired, they have different moods and etc.

Let's just be thankful for what these DJ's do.

yeah i understand u and i think like that also but there are some musts that a dj can do..and personally, i know Tiesto as a very good stage performer..For example, three weeks before Armin was here and he performed incredible..communication with people etc..Tiesto too does hand moves, raises his hands towards crowd..but he didn`t do those that night...but he played good...many tracks that we didn`t know...many remixes..many of them were`satisfactory` but some of them were very good!! Anyway I don`t see Tiesto as bad because he is one of the best still!! His most disapponting point probably was his short set and leaving the stage with a very sharp ending...all the people screamed one more and one more but he didn`t care...all the people stayed all their hands up and jumping! he might end up with a Silence though! anyway thanks Tiesto for coming to Cyprus...

Probably, the best Tiesto's performance that I've witnessed so far was @ club Space in Miami during WMC 2005. He played 4 hours set; and he just drove people crazy...

I must agree on the fact that a dj doesn't allways perform @ his (her) best. this is only human....

BUT:

when you pay top dollar for a show you should expect a top show and NOTHING LESS!!!
so no excuses for anybody being human.. if you expect people to pay (way too much) for a party, you should be able to give them quality (ALWAYS!!!)

personally, Tijs is a very nice guy, but as a dj (read: performing artist) he's way different.... that's very understandable... if he would be his charming self all the time, he'd be burnt down by now...and to comment on an earlier post: requesting a record with a dj. is like telling him: your recordchoice sux, take this record, I know it better then u... INSULT. you don't tell a surgeon which blade to use when he's operating... (@least I hope not!)

and finally: when jetlags are being used as an excuse, I can only say one thing...: fly in a day early... take more time to rest... do less shows or use some drugs... give people quality... (quality is NOT a matter of taste, mind u)

just another dutch opinion...
rspct!!
