A cold air intake is a system to bring down the temperature of the air going into a car for the purpose of increasing the power of the internal-combustion engine. A secondary goal is to increase the appeal of a car by chainging the apperarance of a car's engine bay and creating an attractive intake noise. These aftermarket parts come in many different colors and many different sizes, and are an inexpensive way to increase performance. 5 to 20% HP increase also happens, saves gas by using un-used gas.

Here was my beast:
Let me put emphasis on the word WAS. I rolled her about 2 months ago going around a corner too quick.. and when the road was a little too wet.
92 GS-R. Best engine and gear ratio of all integra's. Car was totaled but the engine was salvaged. Some tuner paid 7k for the engine alone.

Well I shaved 25-30 pounds off of the front end with it. Not much, but every bit counts. Roughly 100 pounds of weight reduces gas mileage by 1mpg.

Nooo, that poor car! Glad to see you made it out alright but 'gissers' are getting more rare everyday.
