I spose this all depends on what you consider "getting over it" to be, but I havent had to get over someone yet. There was the highschool boyfriend who broke up with me two weeks before prom (yeah, I even had the dress) and then two days later got down on one knee at lunch in front of the entire cafeteria to ask another girl to go with him. He made quite the spectacle but it was a helluva lot easier to "get over him" thanks to it.

The others I broke up with because I realized what losers they were.

So... I guess the answer to your question is two days.

Very good miss.

I think the longest ive ever really mourned has been a couple of weeks. Eventually, you get tired of self-pitying and feeling bad and realize that to feel good, youve got to go out and be socially active.

I've mourned lost friendships for years though, including one Im still not over. Some of those got physical, but I wouldn't call them relationships per se. I got caught up in the late 90s teen movie craze, I guess...

Tree I feel the same way about my best friend from highschool. We completely lost 10 years of friendship in one summer from something that she did that I didnt forgive her for until a couple years later, and I miss her terribly.

Also, just to add something to the thread, I find that the best way to get over someone is to find someone else to get "on" if ya know what I mean. Theres nothing that a good new crush cant cure, in my experience.

A six month relationship, on the other hand, is harder to get past if you haven't yet found several reasons to break up with them. You're left wondering "what if", no matter what, basically.

EDIT: This is my experience, and I'm sure it will piss off the girls, here, but it's the way it works for a lot of guys. Sorry.

AGREED
