Here's a tip for you, we don't ALL live in cities, infact although I have a few within an hour or so from me, it's very much a rural area, as is a lot of the country. We don't have a train station, reliable bus service or anything.

The article said in general a MUCH larger percentage of those in Europe have access to these things, they didn't account for every man woman and child. Just like here there are people who can ride a bike to work (my sister does) but a much larger percentage of us here have to drive a greater distance.

There is some good out of this increase in gas prices. this is going to force the automobile industry to find a new and cheaper fuel. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't start seeing more electric vehicles or huge steps being taken towards hydrogen vehicles.

GM, Dodge, and Ford have all combined forces to create the next generation engines to further fasten the process. Its only a matter of a year or 2 the most.

yep here in cali im already seeing the hybrid toyota prius very often on the roads these days...it gives 60 miles to the gallon for city driving...thats really amazing

once the whole iraqi thing is over, and the us has recovered from Katrina, the prices for oil will go down. Not that Im complaining since Norways biggest export article is oil..
