Agreed. But the US was more involved in the war with their wallets than personnel. Even FDR said that he wanted to stay "neutral" as long as he possibly could.

Also, Russians losing alot doesn't mean they "contributed" more to the war. If you know anything about the Russian mentality it's that it's better to die then live wounded or surrender, hence comissars shooting men who take cover or try to retreat when it's 4 of them versus a division of Panzer tanks.
