Whoa this is WAY too heavy for me ... I'll leave all you christians to sling verses at each other and debate the relative merits of animal sacrifices! (Hehehe ... only on Tranceaddict )

I just wanna say have a care guys ... that bible you hold so dear, does not have all the answers you think it does. For fucks sake think about the issues, put yourself in some imaginary hard situations, and come up with your own justifications for doing things, not anyone else's.

Peace

Kia out

Hey Yoepus, are you the better half of the split personality of ArchDevil Brownitus?

The inside joke is: that member was very anti-Christian during a previous debate and pretty said whoever believed in God was a moron.

Actually I've got another question for all you lot ...

How the fuck did you all get into trance music? Did someone drop some rave flyers into your sunday school or what?

What the hell are you all doing involved in a musical scene that basically revolves around class 'A' substances, provocative dress and pagan ritual dancing?

Kia: We're humans, as in, not perfect, no where near perfect even. Christians are still going to screw up and still sin just like everyone else does. And I got into trance music because I've always loved the sound of it. Just because I go to church doesn't mean that I can only enjoy Christian music. God never said "Thou shalt not listen to any music except holy music." And I don't do any of the drugs or erotic dancing because (A) I don't like it, and (B) Neither does God.

Yoepus: Everyone is a child of God, that's true. However Jesus is the actual son of God. None of us humans were born from God. It all happens when a man and a woman love each other very much, and then bla bla bla. Pop! Out comes a baby. But Jesus, he was born of a virgin, and was specifically created by God. That's what makes him different.

And in case you didn't know, Jesus did NOT want to die, as it clearly shows when he was praying to God (as in God the Father) in the garden of (whatever it was called, too long for me to spell
) However Jesus being killed is something that HAD to be done. God even planned it the whole time, and told Jesus "no" when he was asking God to let him live.

I'd write more but I've got school now, so maybe this will hold you over for at least 5 minutes.

I don't hold the bible as anything more then a good piece of liteature (the Old Testemant anyway). But the thing is it is always fun to debate against the religious using their very own core principles. After all they can't argue against the bible... and its easy to do if you actually read just a bit of the thing

What?? It never said that in the Bible! Not one mention of MP3s or copyright laws anywhere in the thing, God must want us to have lots of MP3s (see easy).

Idea

Ok I just came up with a new assignment for this topic (hopefully).

I want to see if together (all us none Jesus believers, atheisit and what not) we can come up with a religious argument (i.e. re-interpurt the bible) to rationaly and logically disprove that Jesus is the son of God and our 'saviuor'.

Think it can be done? I'm sure of it the Old Testemant would be a wise place to start as they didn't even know of Jesus so they didn't bind there words into it... But I am sure there are some parts in the King James bible that disprove Jesus as well.. if not allow to argue a point.

Currently, Jesus can only be classified as either (a) A God-son (thereby being a god, or halfgod, or.. godling for you tolkien folks).
Or (b) A split personality of God

Anyone up for the challenge?

Hehe.. I find it more enlightening to speak to the darkside.. For the light is disguised as dark..

As for Jesus? At best, in relation to all mysticism and how it defines transcendental beings, an avater. An Ascended Master termed by Neo-New Age movement, I suppose.

I'll give you an example: Quan Yin is worshipped in Ch'An tradition in China. The story goes [I cannot confirm the aunthenticity] she was once mortal, reincarnated 3 times and always remembering each previous life. Each reincarnation she followed the path of Buddha until she transcended.. She is known in the West as the Goddess of Mercy / Compassion.

When I say her name in Chinese, it is a beautiful pronounciation.. Somehow, I recognize her name. I get spin tingling chills sometimes when my thoughts dwell on her.. A resonance I cannot explain.

I once saw a picture of her standing on top of the head of a Pan Lung [Celestial Dragon] swimming in a body of water. It was quite an adoring image to see one of the mightest untamable mythical creature be tamed.

Anyways, I must digress.

so................ why are there so many denominations in Christianity? There's Catholic, Lutheran, Presybeterian, Baptist, etc..... isn't Christianity all the same thing? If you base your religion on 2 books, I don't know for sure, I am not religious (Old and New Testament??) then shouldn't your beliefs be the same? Yet there are Protestants fighting Catholics still. I am confused. And how people have used religion in the past as an excuse to kill. But doesn't Christianity LOOK DOWN upon killings, etc?

i heard some very wise words back in 4th or 5th grade, when i was first learning about greek mythology and whatnot. those words were "people use religion as an explanation for the unexplainable."

this has stuck with me through my 18 years of life, and has yet to fail me. once something has been scientifically proven, do you go back to believing some bs from ancient times? (eg. heliocentric vs geocentric) nope.

another point i saw was "why is christianity attacked so often?"

its a quite easy explanation. christians follow their religion with a blind faith. why did you first start going to church? because you're parents told you it was required. why do you still go? because you need something to believe in.

how many people have been suckered by crooked preachers?

why did we have the crusades?

do you really think you're talking to god when you pray?
does he respond?

do you really think he cares about everyone who doesn't spend an hour worshipping him each sunday?
how about 3 hours?
how about church 3 times a week?
how about daily mass at catholic schools?
