I'm rooting for Japan cuz I have a thing for Asian women. Doesn't really make sense but I'm sticking to it.

I was rooting for Cuba to beat the Dominicans cuz I'm usually for the underdog if it's not my teams.

USA losing wasn't a surprise. We had guys like Randy Winn and Jeff Francoeur leading the charge. Decent talent but not our best. Combine that with not as much passion as the other countries... you have yourselves a .500 record and a boot out of the tournament.

What was with Teixeira going 0-15? My boy was playing like A Rod would normally do in crucial situations.

members of juice I like your approach to rooting for teams,Ill probably do the same and root for Cuba then
and yeah I saw how the puerto ricans were into the game I saw, they even dance salsa between innings, Ive seen all this be4 but yeah maybe the USA fans and players can learn a thing or 2 about the passion for the game Latin America has

Korea wins all previous games against Japan, but loses the one that counts the most.

If this tournament was actually a 162 game season, the US team would have won 100+ games. That team was leagues better than all others.

If we take that assumption, then we can take regular season champions in majors as being better than the world series champion when they aren't the same.

In total talent, I can't imagine anyone better than the U.S. But still, Randy Winn is not the best representative of our country. If they had more passion for the event, more of our best players would have played.

When I hear Moises Alou say that it's probably the biggest event in their country's history vs. our guys saying "it was a pretty neat experience."

It's not the only reason the U.S. lost but it's a factor. Another is that it's the beginning of spring training and the Japanese/Koreans/Cubans are already past that.

Well... yeah. There's no doubt in my mind that the Red Sox and Yankees were a better team than the White Sox last year.

Otsuka strikes out Gourriel for the final out, as Japan beats Cuba, 10-6 to win the WBC
It was a pretty exciting game until Japan blew it open in the top of the 9th
