I know prostitution is legal here, but there are LOTS of restrictions on it, I also dont agree with it... But thats just me

I also mentioned I dont think it would be a good idea, A LA DUTCH style.

And what about all the children and young women forced into prostitution around the world? Haven't you heard the stories of men traveling to developing countries to have sex with underage girls? Surely, you don't defend that.

what about them? they're not affected by the discussed law, so what relevance do they have here?

Probably will be unpopular, but I think prostitution should be illegal. It degrades the women who are prostitutes and whether they admit or not causes lots of guilt and problems.

Uh, that's only because of people like you, who insist on making what they do illegal and taboo to society in general.

It leads the women to being slaves to either money, drugs, alcohol or all of them.

That can happen in a highly illegal environment.

The men who have sex with them usually are cheating on their wives which causes them pain too.

Then they shouldn't be married in the first place. The problem there isn't prostitution, but people getting into loveless marriages.

The men then end up not respecting women and see the prostitute and their wives with less respect. Single men who have sex with prostitutes will also lose respect with women and it will impact any chance of a future relationship with a woman.

Non Sequitur after Non Sequitur. Sex is not the only cause or always a cause for someone to lose respect for the opposite gender. In fact, I don't see how sex with prostitutes would make anyone lose respect for anything. People know the difference between prostitutes and people who don't sell their bodies, and will apply their pre-existing moral code accordingly. Take porn star guys, they respect women even though what they do is not very different from prostitution. Also, do you think single women who have sex with prostitutes will lose respect for men? What if a lesbian woman goes with female prostitutes, will she lose respect for other women? No.

As anyone who's ever been in a relationship with someone they cared about, realizes that sex is better when you love the other person.

Most things are better when done with someone you care about.

The short term sexual satisfcation with a prostitute may be good, but long term it hurts all those involved.

Oh yeah, that's why it's legal in Nevada, not to mention numerous places around the world like Amsterdam. So it hurts all those involved in the long term does it? How do you know? Have there been any reports from places of legal prostitution of long term hurt?

I think the government shouldn't have any right to make laws regarding people's personal lives unless it can harm other people (i.e. drinking and driving.) What people do to themselves or put inside their bodies should be their own business... prostitution included.
