the problem with global is because its a shallow valley when it chucks it down theres no where the rain can go. Yeh I was at Homelands in 2000, I can remember just being cold and feeling shit all night, then the bloddy car got stuck in the mud on the way out. Some poor guy actually got stuck properly and had to get towed out!

I hope the weather forecast improves.

I wasn't at homelands 2000 but heard about it from mates who went. I thought the summer sound system 2001 was bad - had to walk over fields to get to it tho as the bus dropped us off 5 miles away! still it was a night I will never forget.

The mud didn't dampen it at all for me, best festival I've ever attended. Completely chavless, no drunks, everybody was there for the music. Pvd's 4 hour closing in the EM arena will stay with me forever.

What were the highlights of that set then?

hahaha yeah.....i was at dance valley last year and it pretty much rained heavily on and off the whole weekend......but it still fucking brilliant.....it just made it more fun and more of challenge......i was just happy i was going back to amsterdam after.haha

I'm in Oxford for the next two weeks and considering my options at the moment. I really want to make it out to this and have been planning on it for awhile. I read earlier posts about train interruptions that weekend.

****First, will there really be train delays or stoppages that weekend? I need to get to Gatwick Airport by noon on Sunday.

****Second, if there are delays and what not, does anyone have a brilliant idea in regards to how I would make it out to Gatwick from the festival in time?

Dublies, you are really pushing it trying to get back to gatwick by mid-day. Im leaving on holiday from gatwick at 6pm and thought that was a bit tight

Only thing I can think of is to hire a car in oxford for the weekend and drop it off at gatwick.

global is on top of completely flat hill, used to be an airport.

first train to Oxford on the sunday is 07.50, if you get on this train and there are no delays then you should make it to Gatwick for noon. Prob have to get to the station early to be able to get on this train tho.

it was an airport but wouldn't call it a hill. more like in a shallow valley.
hopefully the trains aren't buggered as off to london on the thursday. going to be a right git to get there if it is tho.
