I really dont understand the caning that this got from DJs such as Armin, its quite original but its just plain annoying after about 3 listens.

I hate this track, does absolutely nothing for me, no emotion behind this one at all. Similarly, why do DJs like Armin insist on playing this?

okay, true. the name does a lot, but if it lies only on that, why the other Tiesto tunes after Traffic did not get such a big support? Iīm not saying Traffic is an omgchoon, but still it was played by everyone - Armin, Ferry, PVD.. everyone. Why Love Comes Again did not get the same support? Itīs labeled "Tiesto" (plus BT of course!) as well.

I dunno if you were here around when it was released but it got almost the same kind of support. Armin played it. Including most of the Armin clones.
One reason why it didnt go down so well as Traffic may be because of teh vocals. It's more a popdance tune than a trance tune.

Yeah, Armin played that, but that was all. PVD not, Ferry not, as I can remember. No, it was not so big.

Okay, this is another endless discussion, we can argue like this forever..

And why do they like them? Because they get played all the time. Because they don't know anything else.

There are tons and tons of excellent tracks nobody knows because these so-called super-DJ's play the same damn tracks over and over again.

The same reason playlists exist in radios. Figure it out.

So track that shows no effort whatsoever but is caned by every DJ deserves more credit than a track that is equisitely detailed and creative, but gets no playtime? Tracking Treasure Down deserves more credit than the original mix of Madagascar because G&D know how to pander and happen to be buddies with Armin?

Fame can't justify a song, because fame also involves more politicking than you can imagine, and a certain level of marketability. Neither of those two have anything to do with what actually justifies a song: its inherent merits. This thread is about considering those tracks that had more politics and marketability behind them than merit. You can still enjoy the tracks that are listed as such, but just know that they are the result of a great deal of politics and marketing, and don't necessarily have the full musical experience in mind.

My post should have the right answer: politics and marketability. Not merit.

Do you know nothing about the music industry?
