actually he did a good job today when he came on. Owen did absolutely nothing and all Gary Neville did with the ball was pass it backwards.

They need to play better and I know they will, especially when Rooney comes in.

Horrible game and yet another (though kind of expected) disappointment from the big-mouthed Brits. Yesterday's performance looked like the good ol' Kich-and-Rush football. How come a country with such a beautiful quick and exciting Premier League produces a crap team like that.

Eh? big mouthed english, don't tar all the brits with that brush please.

My opinion on the game yestrday (as an italian fan) is this. defending a 1-0 lead for the whole second half against a team like paraguay is scandelous, if it had been italy playing they'd have been criticised for it and rightfully so, england are lucky they've got such an easy group, it may give them time to settle into some sort of form, but yesterdays game was one of the worst I've ever seen, nearly as bad as austria vs west germany in 82.

I even had to laugh at ian shite trying to blame the italian game for englands poor performormance - "it's because sven spent so long as a manager in italy". What a fuckin trumpet.

That was rubbish.

Sven was rubbish
The ref was bias
Snoozefest in the second half

Hopefully the next game against T&T will show some better attacking football.

The ref needs his balls cutting off for that, did his best to fuck it up for England (and whoever thought it'd be a good idea to put that stupid TV over the pitch deserves the same fate!)

On the match...exactly what we needed. I dont think we played poorly, we just didn't play exciting football - but the occasion did not call for that. We needed 3 points and we got them against a decent team. Many people say the first game is the toughest and we needed a result to settle down. We haven't peaked and everybody knows we have a hell of a lot more to offer than that display, so I'm glad we should now be settled and able to improve our game against T&T and Sweden.

Aye, my thoughts exactly. The 3 points are all that counts.

I'm worried about Becks though, he looked seriously fatigued during the entire second half.

they all did... remember it was 30C out there; i certainly wouldn't be on top of the world after running around for 90 mins in that heat & would imagine the same for most people living in england
