Im a huge herper and yeah i did hold him high in my mind because of all the great publicity he has done for some of my favorate animals that everyone in the world had a high non-tolerance for. Better odds dont you think

I'm pretty sure the irony in this is that Steve Irwin daily handles some of the deadliest animals around and never dies, yet when he handles one of the most placid animals that can still be called dangerous he is killed.

This was really depressing news to me. Not so much because of the loss of Irwin himself, but of his invincibility. Irwin, to me, represented an irrepressable strength and vivacity that I thought would never die. And here we are. All of that is gone.

I wouldn't put this on a level with 9/11. Personally, I associate this with the death of Robert Moog. Something of the brand of humanity that defined my life is gone.
