Its no secret that the US was at one time allied with Saddam because of the oil - this is just a continuation of Desert Storm. Clinton had no interest in Bush Sr.'s feuds, so he didnt see the need in continuing it.

I think more people would have respected Bush Jr. if he would have just been honest about the whole thing and said that he wanted to go after radical terrorists, get rid of Saddam and get some oil in the process.

This whole WMD shit set off an unnecessary chain reaction with Korea and Iran. Its something that could have been handled without all this media intervention.

In certain cases I find in necessary, or when done correctly and efficiently, but when youre attacking on a whim and improvising in action - than you have issues.
