Given the jurisdiction of deific presence, I don't really see what is so invalid about this statement. I am not saying that there is a God and It makes the rules, but if there was a God, wouldn't God's word hold true over the whole of reality? How would you know for sure? There's no point in speculating about "if I knew". You never know. You could expect, based on your intuitions and knowledge about the person, but that doesn't mean you decided for him.
