nothing that i've heard in the past year has come close to the emotion and impact that For An Angel (and other tracks during that era) had on me. It's a joke (but also a sign of the times) to see BT's track being voted TA's track of the year for '06.

I have not read through the whole thread, but as far as the "superior equipment" goes, today's equipment is not superior in any means.. Today's equipment is mostly emulations of the old synths, most which isn't up to the standard of the hardware version, so why do we have superior equipment ?

Because we can all use emulators for free, without investment or experience, in one simple software package! Just fire up Reason and upload to the digi-label!

The traditional filters for quality have broken down.

I do. But when some of the labels I like start going digital-only, it presents a problem.
