ok. you are a robber. where would you most likely go to rob, a place where everyone is armed to the teeth, or a place where few guns are around?
on Bullshit! it was illustrated beautifully. they interviewed an ex-con i believe it was, and he said that criminals LOVE gun control. why? well, they're criminals. gun control makes it harder for civilians to legally get guns. hell, it can make it illegal. guess what! CRIMINALS WILL GET GUNS, EVEN IF THEY'RE ILLEGAL. why? THEY'RE CRIMINALS.
Canada is a nation with shooting in its heritage. violent crime? VERY little. in Switzerland, everyone can frickin shoot. everyone is frickin armed. and from what i've seen, crime isn't very prominent there either.
the problem lies not in the gun, but the people who can use them. if you take away guns, you'll still have violent criminals that will find something else to be violent with.
it stems out from American (yes, both continents) society and educational systems. guns aren't as prominent in my country as in US, thank god. crime is at an all-time high. i used to think guns were bad, but lately i've been seriously considering that going around armed is a good idea. i've asked my parents to teach me to shoot (they were both competitors in those marksmen type tournaments, where you'd go through courses n shit, mom even shoots better than dad). i also train martial arts (partly because i love it, and for self defense) in case i have to ever get down.
bottom line, crime sucks, and the first chance i get, i'm moving out of here.
