Vanguard is the shit. Their sound is unbelievable. I was talking to the booking agents / staff of our biggest local club and told them how shit the sound was in Chicago and asked if they had looked into upgrading it at any point, and they said to put in anything comprable they'd be spending near $250k. yeah it has the best sound on the west coast. i love it. and nice design and everything.

and for the club owners bitch about the costs but its a cost of doing business and being a club. the cost of being a badass club is very high but it is also very rewarding money wise. if you have a relatively good crowd before and you upgrade people notice. and it is normally reflected in the patronage.

it takes a long time to re-coup that kind of investment, though, so part of it is whether you think you'll be open for long enough for it to have an effect.

also, yeah, you have to keep in mind that they don't JUST have to make 250 k--they have to see an INCREASE of 250k in profits due to the upgrade.

well if im not mistaken it can be used as a tax write off so i dont think thats fully true but im no tax lawyer.
