I'm with you on that one buddy...
Didn't notice the trainwrecks but from what I heard his track selection was a perfect warm up for Lawler.
As for Lawler himself, I am quite convinced that "Nay" sayers simply just don't understand what is taking place. Lawler in the mainroom was ultra dark and slightly experimental at times. But anyone who listens to Lawler knows that he does that quite regularly. The only thing surprising about his mainroom set, was that despite having seen him multiple times in the past year he continues to blow me (and mainy others) away.
His skybar set was even better. There he played a slower, groovier, more prog oriented set, and it was fuckin sick. The last hour of it built up to the epic awesomeness that is the entire reason I love Lawler. It felt like the entire night, from the mainroom, to the skybar, was one logical progression.
And to top it all off Lawler
1)Says "I'm absolutely fucked"
2)Says "I love playing here more than anywhere else in the world"
3)Takes my Canada flag, holds it up in the air, then keeps it
If it's possible to get more rockstar than he does, I have yet to see it.
