last call if definitely right now designed to get people HAMMERED. all the reminders they have in Top 40 places are insane. even if you don't want to drink you think like you have to because they are advertizing so much.
there is no advertizing at TiL on Fridays or at Guv on Saturdays. |
ban advertising! Its evil!

The people who are slamming back drinks at last call are going to slam them back at 3:45 pm....it doesn't matter if you extend the drinking hours....its in their mindset. |
What if last call is abolished altogether? What business does the government have in telling us adults when we can and cannot drink in the first place? It would certainly cut down on binge drinking.

But you'll also have many people who still end up leaving around 1am/2am anyways just because its starting to get late.
Then you'll also have more people who are adequately drunk that they don't feel the need to slam back at 3:45 or so.
Also, if last call runs till 4 or 5, and the club closes at 4 or 5 - slamming back 2-3 drinks wont do you much good because you'll be leaving soon anyways. Where if the club shuts down at 4, and last call is at 2 - your still in a "ready to party mood" and slamming them back to get you through the last hour or two of the night.
Yeah, you'll still get people doing the last-call drink-rush, but I dont think it'd be nearly as bad as it is now.
IMO: Get rid of last-call all together, 24/7 drinking - let the bars/clubs decide when they want to close down/stop drinking/etc.
I'm not even a drinker - just think the whole last-call system is stupid and causes more problems than it solves.

this comes off as a bit conceited. There are already a few clubs in Toronto that are very spectacular in both design and technology that even guest djs are awed by.
Im sure Circa will be great, but no need to downplay what is already here. If anything, its the crowd in Toronto that is lacking, not the clubs themselves.
