There is a huge difference between taking a leap of faith with an older women, and taking a leap of faith with an older women with a child. NO, there isn't a HUGE gap of age difference but once you include a child it put her on a whole different level of "older".

That's for the States. Canadian and western European women tend to have their first children even later, if I remember correctly.

You can search for an article, but even if you look around, you don't see many 17-20 year olds having kids.

YES YOU DO!! More than half the girls I went to school with, highschool that is, are atleast on their second kid, some first but a lot of them are poppoin out their 2nd kid. And most are only 20, 21 the latest. It happens more than you think. OHH and, I learned that in senior year, 4, not 3 like I thought, but 4 girls were pregnant and we were only 16.
