Plus people keep forgetting that Christopher has been cleared by DJ Mag.

People should be questioning Armin van Buuren, who was disqualified from the BPM poll in 2003 for cheating.

Look at Armin's bizarre climb when he first entered the top 100:

2000 - Did not place
2001 - 27
2002 - 5

Geez!!

I believe Armin has had a much bigger global impact than Christopher Lawrence. Yes CL is big in America/California, but I've never heard of him doing anything on a global scale.

Also Armin's productions have gotten him a lot more play than CL's.

Yes, Armin has gotten more play than Christopher, his songs are more commercial and his radio show has gotten him a lot of exposure and brought new people into dance music.

I thought "good for you" when I saw Armin made #1, it's nice to have some fresh blood in the #1 spot.

All I am saying is that Armin jumped 95 positions in two years in the Top 100, plus he got disqualified from BPM for cheating. Yet nobody talks about it.

First time hearing that. Do you have the source? link to any article discussing this matter?

Do you think Armin cheated his way to DJ Mag top spot as well?

Sorry, Armin earned his rankings, even his 2002 'jump.'

Love him or hate him he has had a major impact on dance music world wide and his radio show is broad casted in numerous countries, including XM satellite. Not to mention having his record label with all the countless records released and support of other djs/producers through its sub labels, him headlining most major dance events around the world, armada@amnesia in ibiza residency, etc etc etc

But fuck it, everyone has their own opinion and I think Hypersky put things in perspective nicely.

well played sir.

I was told about it by a friend who worked at BPM. It wasn't the first time they had caught Armin cheating, they had warned him before, but it was so bad in 2005 that BPM disqualified him.

There was a thread about Armin after he got caught cheating in 2002/2003:

http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...d+bpm+and+cheat

Here is the thread after he was disqualified:

http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...d+bpm+and+cheat

I have no idea if Armin cheated to get to the top spot this year.

nobody said armin cheated this year of the dj mag poll... surfgal wasnt saying that... we are just truly CL supporter, and just tired of hearing CL cheated his way blah blah blah.. the guy is already disqualified what more that u guys are asking for???

Armin deserved his number one spot for sure...

problem is, nobody knows who cheated or what... it's just why are we still CL hating even tough he's been cleared... it was whacked anyways for dj mag to declare him CHEATING, then cleared him... wtf was that all about... INNOCENt until proven guilty!!!

we're just supporting christopher lawrence... like i said he might get dq'ed or rank 10001 i will still support him because of his music and not some numbers... same thing if any other of ur favorite djs doenst make the poll or whatnot... we all have our support for our own favorites...

lol.

surfrgal, you are a sheep if you believe that first thread. Or do you prefer lemming?

as far as the 2nd thread about 2005 bpm list, who knows who emailed fake votes, definitely not you or the thread starter.

I think Boomers comment in the 1st thread sums it up:

Total fabrication written by an uneducated angry person. At least make a plausible story if you are gonna lie.

yo lest not be attacking anyone personally here... surfgal was just suggesting that this whole situation is "unclear" "shady" or however u want to put it... the same thing that happen with CL... u know nobody knows for sure... let's not make this thread become a never ending argument about this...

M.i.k.e hasnt been playing trance for years. Been doing his electro thing for years, which I also think is great.

I don't want this to turn into something mean, I like the West Coast forum because people are generally so nice in here. Please let's keep it that way

I think it's superb that Armin's career has done so well and it just goes to show that mud doesn't stick forever. Good for him.

That being said, I was very close to the BPM camp and it did happen. I knew about it for a long time before it hit the message boards. I also know a lot more about it which didn't come out, but I will not discuss it. What's the point?

Like Mecca said, I'm only talking about this because I think people should see this has happened before and it's not the end of the world!

Ha ha, you looked at my profile, I'm blushing!

I go to Giant/Vanguard, used to go to Spundae/Circus. I will go to Avalon if the Dj is right, but do not like that venue so much. I used to go out every weekend and to BPM midweek, but I'm working at a law firm now so I have to get my sleep.

Where do you go?
