As it appears these two tracks are going to advance, I don't hear what's so special about Formentera What? or Mexico Can Wait. Can someone explain it to me? |
I think mostly the confusion on Formentera What is due to the two remixes (both of which really don't sound anything like each other).
The one paraded in TOTY (Gareth & Emery Mix) is the weaker of the two, IMO. Not a bad track but nothing catchy about it. In fact, i have had to listen to it again to remember what it was.
The one that gets my vote is the club Mix. It has smooth built up, nice little vocal sample, keeps piling up on you enough to keep you interested for the length of the track and has quite a catchy tune. It has been kept simple, effective, melodious - and all put together, a nice track.
Mexico can wait - IMO, a decet track but not a Top-Track material.

You're forgetting the M.I.K.E. remix (not that it's that special )
In each case, most of the tracks in the final selection aren't my favourites of the year, but of the remaining tracks "Formentera What (GE Remix)" is my favourite together with "Winter".
