But you have to know that whenever you get introduced to a new style you'll always want to hear the most recent things first, then your curiousity will go to the older stuff.

I don't mind Trance with vocals. But I have to say that most artists who use them don't have composing skills so the tracks suck.

That's certainly not true for everbody. When i set out to explore something new i usually start at the beginning. I don't think i'm the only one.

then vocals are a nice way to cover that up (for the mass). I used to like vocal trance a lot and I don't think vocals are what makes a track bad, but nowadays it just seems to be a syptom of a bad trance track.

Imo all these freelance, breathy, pseudo-ethereal vocals are as far away as you can get from anything with "personality".

well duh! you know what i meant. not personality as in more interesting or anything like that, but personality as in something that makes the track easy to spot in a set/club among all the other tracks.

nowadays most of the trance use so much same sounds (weather it's full-on psy or mainstream trance), so when you hear those lyrics you instantly know what the track is. and after you've heard a new track in a club for the first time you probably forget everything about it in the next day, unless it has vocals, you'll remember those.

perhaps he's seen what basshunter has done in the uk and realised that to get to the true number 1 in the world, he's got to release pop pap that all the chavs will buy in their droves, forever moving away from what trance stands for for the sake of a nice retirement fund.

considoring the amount of crappy vocal trance which is flooding the market now I am amazed if anyone can remember one single track the next day.
So it doesn't matter how much vocals producer put into their tracks. The end result is almost always that the track will sound as cheesy crap.
